EHE LIGHT™ is a UV bonding system designed to work with the full range of professional extension formats: tape-in, keratin, wefts and loose strands, with no compromise on bond quality.
The formats
Cut 2 mm below the attachment point of the existing tape. Apply the EHE LIGHT™ UV adhesive to the cut top edge of the extension strands. The UV bond creates a join at the root without the rigid structure of the traditional sandwich system. Ideal for clients with fine hair who want a lighter, more flexible bond.
Bond each tape weft individually, strand by strand, for the most natural look and the best comfort when worn.
Keratin-tip extensions can be bonded with the EHE LIGHT™ system. Simply cut 2 mm from the existing keratin tip, place a drop of professional UV adhesive and follow the standard application protocol. The UV bond is made cold, with no heated iron.

Sewn-in hair wefts can be turned into individual bonding strands using the advanced cutting technique described below. Once cut, each strand is applied strand by strand with the EHE LIGHT™ protocol, for a fully customisable application that adapts precisely to the density and distribution of each client’s natural hair.

Advanced technique
One of the most useful, and often under-used, techniques in professional UV hair extension application is turning wefted hair into individual loose strands before bonding. This one skill widens your creative range considerably and gives you full control over density and distribution.
Standard natural hair wefts, even machine-sewn ones, are made with a reinforced top seam where the strands are anchored. This seam gives the weft its structural integrity during manufacture, but it becomes an obstacle when you want to apply individual strands with the EHE LIGHT™ bonding system.
The solution is simple: by carefully cutting the top seam of the weft, you free the individual strands from their structure and turn them into loose strands with no pre-formed tip, exactly the format you need for strand-by-strand bonding with EHE LIGHT™.
Lay the weft flat on a clean, stable surface. Locate the seam of the weft, the reinforced top edge the strands hang from. The seam is generally 3 to 5 mm wide and stands out clearly as a denser, stiffer band at the top of the weft.
Using sharp professional scissors, make a clean horizontal cut about 2 mm below the lower edge of the seam. You are cutting through the base of the seam, not into the hair itself, to free the strands from their thread anchor. Work slowly, in small cuts, to stay accurate and avoid shortening the extension strands unnecessarily.
Once the seam section has been removed, you have a set of individual strands or small groups with a clean, cut top edge in place of a pre-formed tip. These strands are now in ideal condition for EHE LIGHT™ application: the cut surface creates a flat, even bonding face for the UV adhesive.
Separate the freed strands into individual bonding units. The ideal strand weight for EHE LIGHT™ application is around 0.5 to 1 g per strand, which corresponds to a weft section about 0.5 to 1 cm wide. Strands that are too heavy put unnecessary tension on the natural anchor section; strands that are too fine may not give enough visual density per attachment point.
Apply the EHE LIGHT™ UV adhesive to the cut top edge of the extension strand, the surface created by cutting the seam. Place this adhesive-coated edge flat against the root of the natural hair section, continue with the standard integration and curing protocol, then cure with the light within 1 cm for 6 to 8 seconds on top and 6 to 8 seconds underneath. The result is a strand-by-strand bond very close to a factory-made individual strand extension.
