In a few words
What is a UV extension masterclass?
A UV extension masterclass is hands-on training where hair professionals learn to attach natural human hair extensions with an adhesive that hardens under ultraviolet light, without a heated clamp. At EHE LIGHT™ it is held in person, lasts one day, brings together a small group and is practical from the very first minute with the professional kit: a 395 nm device, Clear and Black adhesives and removal solution. You leave knowing how to apply, blend and remove, with a clear idea of how to price this service in your salon.
The technique is simple to explain and demanding to carry out. The adhesive drop should measure 2 to 3 mm, the strand should weigh between 0.5 and 1 g, the bond should sit 1 to 1.5 cm from the scalp, and the light should cure for 6 to 8 seconds on the top and then 6 to 8 seconds underneath, at less than 1 cm. These details make the difference between an invisible bond and one that shows: they are best learnt with your hands, and with someone to correct you.

The method
UV extensions: one method, several names
This technique is sometimes searched for under other names, often coming from social media. Technically, these are extensions attached with UV light: a photopolymerisable resin that changes from liquid to solid when the photo-initiator receives ultraviolet light. It is the same principle used to cure gel nail polish or dental fillings. EHE LIGHT™ is the brand of this system; other brands’ consumables and instructions are not interchangeable.
The EHE LIGHT™ system works at 395 nm, in the long-wavelength UV-A band, with a 5 W device fitted with a protective shield and certified CE, RoHS and FCC. What sets it apart from a generic kit is everything around the light: the adhesive formulated for hair, the removal solution, the protocol and the training. For the technical detail, see UV technology for extensions.
Why now
Why learn UV extensions in 2026
Clients arrive at the salon with Instagram and TikTok videos and ask for “light extensions”. Few salons know how to apply them properly, and that is an opportunity.
No heat on the hair
Keratin melts at 160 to 200°C. The UV bond forms at room temperature, so no heated clamp touches the natural hair.
Faster in the chair
You don’t wait for keratin to cool and you don’t go back over every bond. A full head can be finished in under 2 hours, against the usual 3 or 4.
Minimal bonds
The cured resin is transparent and flexible. It suits fine hair and delicate areas such as the front hairline.
Water resistant, with a few precautions
Once cured, the bond is designed to withstand washing, styling and exercise. It is best, however, not to wet it for the first three days, and then to space out washes.
Controlled removal
With the removal solution and professional heat at 120°C, the bond softens and comes away without pulling. You can re-apply in the same appointment.
Clients who come back
Maintenance takes place every 6 to 8 weeks. It is a repeat service, not a one-off sale.
Programme
The EHE LIGHT™ masterclass programme
Six blocks, from consultation to service menu. You first see a live demonstration, then you practise and we correct every bond.
Assessment and preparation
How to assess the density, texture and condition of the hair. Which extension to choose, and why the ideal weight is between 0.5 and 1 g per strand.
Precision sectioning
Fine sections, a bond 1 to 1.5 cm from the scalp, and a map of the 6 zones of the head to distribute the volume.
UV adhesive and curing
The 2 to 3 mm drop, when to use the Clear or the Black adhesive, and the curing protocol: 6 to 8 seconds on the top and underneath, at less than 1 cm.
Invisible blending
Cutting and finishing so that nobody can see where the extension begins, including at the front hairline and on fine hair.
Careful removal
Removal solution, activation at 120°C and the EHE LIGHT™ tool. Cleaning off residue and re-applying in the same appointment.
Business and pricing
How to add the service to your menu, price guidelines (indicative only), how to present it to the client, and the 6 to 8 week maintenance cycle.

Comparison
Masterclass, online course or school: which training should you choose?
Not all extension training serves the same purpose. Here is an honest comparison by type of training, not by provider.
| EHE LIGHT™ masterclass | Online course | General extensions course | Generic kit with a video | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Practice with correction | Yes, individual and in a small group | No, you watch but nobody corrects you | Depends on the provider | No |
| UV-specific technique | It is the central subject | Sometimes, as a module | Often centred on keratin, tape-ins and micro-rings | Basic instructions |
| Removal protocol | Solution, 120°C and a dedicated tool | Theoretical | Depends on the technique | Rarely included |
| Certified device | CE, RoHS and FCC, 395 nm | Not applicable | Depends on the equipment | Often unbranded, with no clear certification |
| Business and pricing | Included, with price guidelines (indicative only) | Varies | Varies | No |

How to choose good UV extension training
Seven questions to ask any training provider, ours included.
- How much time do I spend practising? If almost everything is demonstration, you will learn to watch, not to apply.
- How many people are in each group? In a large group, nobody checks your bonds one by one.
- Is removal taught?Badly done removal damages hair. It must be practised, not just explained.
- Which device and which adhesive are used?Ask for the wavelength, the certifications and whether the adhesive is designed for hair.
- What happens afterwards? The questions arrive with your first client. Check that support is provided after the training.
- Does the training explain how to price the service?Knowing how to apply is not enough if you don’t know how to present the service or set its price.
- Is the equipment available where you work?If every restock takes weeks to arrive, the service grinds to a halt.

After the masterclass

With what you have learnt, you can offer full application, volume filling on fine hair, maintenance every 6 to 8 weeks, and removal with re-application. The EHE LIGHT™ professional kit contains everything you use during the training plus 6 months of VIP support, so you are supported when your first client walks in.
To set your prices, see our guide to UV extension prices (indicative only) and the article on how to offer UV extensions in your salon. If you are unsure between several techniques, the UV extensions or keratin comparison helps you explain it to your clients.
Frequently asked questions
Your questions about UV extension masterclasses
How long does the UV extension masterclass last?
It is one hands-on day, in person. During that time you see the full protocol live and practise it with the professional kit, including removal and re-application.
Do I need previous experience with extensions?
No. The training is designed for working hair professionals. If you already know how to section and work with hair, you will learn the UV method step by step.
Where and when are the masterclasses held?
The location of each masterclass is sent on WhatsApp to those who register, together with the dates. This lets us keep groups small and tell you as soon as a new place opens. Dates, language and conditions are confirmed with the team. No sessions are announced in the UK or Europe at present. You can register using the booking form.
How many people are in each group?
Few. Every bond is practised and corrected individually, so a group is full as soon as we can no longer supervise everyone with the device in hand.
Do UV extensions go by other names?
Yes, the technique goes by several names. UV extensions or UV light extensions is the technical description: in every case, an adhesive that cures under ultraviolet light is used. EHE LIGHT™ is the brand of this system; other brands’ consumables and instructions are not interchangeable. What differs from one brand to another is the quality of the device, the adhesive and the removal protocol.
Do you also learn how to remove the extensions?
Yes, and it is one of the most important parts. You practise removal with the EHE LIGHT™ removal solution, activation at 120°C and the specific tool, then re-application in the same appointment.
Is it safe to work with UV light in the salon?
The device works at 395 nm, in long-wavelength UV-A, with a protective shield and CE, RoHS and FCC certification. During the masterclass, we work with gloves, keeping the adhesive off the skin and placing the bond 1 to 1.5 cm from the scalp.
Is this technique suitable for fine hair?
Yes. It is one of the cases where it works best, because the bond is small and light. During the training we look at how to choose the weight of each strand and where to place it so that it doesn’t show.
Can I train my whole team?
Yes. If you have a salon and several people need to offer the service, say so when you register as a salon owner and we will send you the options.
Does registering commit me to anything?
No. We write to you on WhatsApp within 24 hours with the programme and the conditions, and you then decide whether or not to confirm your place.
